The Calgary Geoscience Data Managers Society (CGDMS) is accepting articles for potential publication on its website and potentially featured via a link in its monthly Newsletter.  All submissions should be approximately 500 – 1000 words and should be informative and educational in nature.  Submissions should have a broad appeal to the membership and provide insight for the benefit of the society’s members.  Articles may contain non-commercial content regarding various aspects of data management, information management and knowledge management as it pertains to the geosciences.  Topics such as versioning, taxonomy, different kinds of databases, ACCESS, Sequel, data capture, data archival, searching fields, data retrieval and the like are all topics of benefit.  Comparing different methodologies for data archival and the benefits of different medium are also important aspects.  

CGDMS reserves the right to limit the number of submissions from any one individual and reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of the material for publication on its website.  CGDMS is providing this service to its members with the intent to help to showcase the value of the work that we do.  It is hoped that any unemployed or under-employed members may find this project beneficial to oneself to promote one’s expertise for the purposes of securing future employment. 

Original pieces of work are preferred. Please cite any sources used in your submission. 

Please submit a clear title for your paper and a brief description of yourself. When published, do you want any questions to be addressed to you directly? If so, please give us consent and the appropriate contact information to publish with your biography or choose to incorporate this into your paper.
